Excerpt from Sarah Palin Discusses Trig Decision [Wowowow]:
Palin explained that she was out of Alaska when she found out, and did briefly toy with the idea of terminating the pregnancy: “There, just for a fleeting moment, I thought, I knew, nobody knows me here. Nobody would ever know. I thought, wow, it is easy. It could be easy to think maybe of trying to change the circumstances. No one would know. No one would ever know.”
Her conscience and faith, however, won in the end: “It was a time when I had to ask myself, was I gonna walk the walk or I was gonna talk the talk … I had just enough faith to know that trying to change the circumstances wasn’t any answer.” And for that we commend you, Gov. Palin.
I’m grateful that she had her faith to guide her to make a momentous life decision. And I’m glad that she did it without involving a judge, a lawyer or an elected official. Or even clergy.
I do not understand why she would like to deny me the same opportunity.

His cri de coeur at The Daily Beast is a doozy. It seems to ignore any reality of the actual campaign that was run and blathers on about how the badge of Republican indicted his mavericky hero, McCain:
By the end of the campaign, our own polling revealed over sixty percent of voters recognized Senator Obama as a political liberal, while only a little over twenty percent of voters identified themselves that way. It didn’t matter. Americans wanted change, and a majority of them were willing to gamble on the young man with a short resume, whose positions on issues were often at odds with theirs, because he offered the most change. Any Republican, even one with a reputation for political courage and a record of challenging his party’s leadership, would have a hard time satisfying the public’s desire for sweeping change. The R after his name indicted him in the public mind’s, and Senator Obama’s campaign, with millions of dollars in advertising and an intense focus on their message, expertly prosecuted the case: McCain equals four more years of Bush.
This is my problem with Mark Salter and anyone else trying to give me Champale instead of Moet. If McCain had a reputation of political courage and challenging his party’s leadership, why did he change up once he got to the Big Time? McCain didn’t lose solely because Obama gives good speech and crafted a campaign strategy that was hard to beat; McCain lost because he didn’t trust his gut to run a campaign that was true to his values.
End of story. Anything else is bullshyt. Another out of this world hedge:
No doubt, we made our share of mistakes. In hindsight, the decision to briefly suspend our campaign to help find support for legislation to address the collapse of the global credit system is probably one of them.
PROBABLY? What is so wrong with saying it was? McCain lost the election because of this gimmicky move while citizens of the country he loves so much were losing their homes and jobs. Country first, my ass.

When rabidly homophobic male politicians are caught putting their genitals and/or mouth on another man, I LOVE IT. It makes me do a little jig.
Alabama Attorney General Troy King, a conservative Republican Christian who has called homosexuality the ‘downfall of society,’ has been caught with his pants down—literally—in a gay sex scandal. King was reportedly nabbed having sex with a male assistant by his wife, Paige King, in the couple’s own bed.
After being caught having sex with his male aide by his wife, Alabama Attorney General Troy King was reportedly banished from his home in Montgomery by his infuriated spouse, according to PerezHilton.com. Although reports about the scandal are sketchy and the events have yet to be confirmed by official sources, some media outlets are reporting that King is preparing to resign over the affair.

King, while living in his glass closet, also railed against sex toys (how can anyone hate a toy?) and abortion. My friend SpeechStar tells me that whenever someone exhibits virulent homophobia, that’s his clue that he’s listening to a hardcore closet case. For me, that triggers a deep abiding sympathy. It must be enormously difficult for someone to lie to the world and themselves because of their sexual orientation. I don’t wish that kind of duality on anyone. EXCEPT a hypocritical, hateful Republican tool. I heap scorn and disgust on those people.
