For purely selfish reasons, it sucks that I will take a pass on…

Saturday Night Live tonight because I love Adele.  Love her.  Love her songwriting. Her voice. Her skills.  Her look.  LOVE HER.  A day does not go by that I don’t listen to some Adele, okay?

I’m a fan and now because of that ignoramus in a skirt, I’m going to miss seeing Adele do her thing tonight.

It’s an unfair sacrifice but a worthy one.

TV Junkie: Weekend Edition [LAist]

Watching ‘SNL’ this weekend convinced me more than ever…

that their writing team has ceded the world of biting, incisive political satire to ‘The Daily Show’, ‘The Colbert Report’ and ‘Real Time With Bill Maher.’

Because the best skit on show was the opening with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin and Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton.  After that it was all downhill.

Mariah Carey comes to SNL’s rescue.

I will be out being Tallulah on Saturday night but I will be taping for Mariah, not for SNL’s gummy satire.

Janet Jackson won’t be on SNL this weekend because of the flu.

Tallulah thinks that someone (Def Jam? SNL?) didn’t want to spend the money flying her and her Janet army of stylists, dancers, hangers on and the Big Man for an album that is a hit in name only (inflated top spot on album charts with dismal actual record sales).

Here are my suggestions to replace her:

TV on the Radio – I saw them open for P-Funk and their live show was amazingly tight. And maybe Tunde could play Barack Obama for them even though he’s not light skinned at all?

Chrisette Michelle – Because I love she!

Snoop Dogg – I know he’s in town because he performed at the Blender Theater last night. It could make up for that horrible show he has on E!

Teyana Taylor – the Google Me girl with all that HAIR

Young Jeezy – His name sounds like an STD but he’s got a hit record!

Who it will probably be?

The execrable Miley Cyrus.

Love Tina Fey madly but Tallulah’s got to ask…

if bitch is the new black

where does that leave women who were bitches WAY before it was trendy and hip?

Obamagirl can’t vote in a primary but can show up to half heartedly do her shtick on the show?

I believe in non-traditional casting, too.

Maybe we’ll see Kenan do his take on Cindy McCain and Amy Poehler do Michelle Obama in upcoming shows!
