Cheesy Song of the Day, July 10:

When You Were YoungThe Noisettes

This is a cover.  To me, good culture takes its reader, listener, viewer on a journey. The journey can be to experiences so remote from our lives like what it’s like to be a male stripper in Tampa, Florida. Or to emotions that we didn’t even know existed, but were there waiting to burst through into our conscious life.

Engaging with good culture doesn’t mean we share the same journeys, but it does mean that we get to feel, to know a new awareness that (hopefully)  makes us better than the day or moment before.

I love where ‘When You Were Young’ takes me:  pain, nostalgia, heartbreak, regret and joy.  I know for someone else the song will mean something totally different.  That’s a part of the journey.

What’s YOUR Cheesy Song of the Day?
